Among the five “Platonic solids” systematized by ancient Greek philosophers, the regular octahedron stands out for its perfect symmetry and geometric purity—qualities that continue to inspire contemporary spatial design and acoustic engineering.

“vision,” the new creation from listude, is a speaker that achieves coaxial, quasi‑omnidirectional performance with a minimal complement of only three drivers—a 1‑inch tweeter and two full‑range units—strategically arranged within the well‑proportioned structure of a regular octahedron.

Wherever You Are

vision places the tweeter and bass‑reflex port on one opposing pair of the octahedron’s eight faces, and the two full‑range drivers on another opposing pair. This arrangement generates a natural, uniform spread of sound in every direction around the tweeter–port axis—up, down, and across.

With this minimal complement of drivers, it is conceived as a quiet medium between space and listening—balancing imaging precision and enveloping breadth so that clarity and spaciousness coexist no matter where you are in the room.

Resonant Materials

The cabinet is crafted from laminated birch plywood, chosen for its well‑balanced combination of stiffness and acoustic damping. Its surface is carefully hand-finished with natural beeswax, giving it a warm, organic tactility. In addition, six veneer finish options let you match the piece to your space and lifestyle.

Connects with a Standard Audio Setup

vision connects simply using a conventional amplifier and standard speaker cables—no special power supply or complex setup required. Its binding posts accept banana plugs, spade (Y) lugs, or bare wire, offering excellent compatibility with existing audio components.

Flexible Placement: Shelf or Ceiling Suspension

vision can be placed on a shelf or table (with the optional dedicated stand) and also supports ceiling suspension. For those seeking a uniformly distributed sound field throughout the entire space, we recommend suspending it from the ceiling.

Ceiling suspension removes obstructions around the speaker, allowing sound to radiate naturally through the room while reducing unwanted reflections from the floor and walls to maximize inherent clarity. It also helps the unit visually blend into the interior and lessens any sense of bulk.
